Arsenal considering Cerci bid?

Arsenal could make a January move for Atletico Madrid forward Alessio Cerci, according to reports in Spain.

AS claim the Gunners are monitoring the situation with Cerci, a €16m summer signing from Torino, with the Italy international a potential solution to the London club’s scoring problems.

Cerci has struggled to win a place among Diego Simeone’s regular side despite having been a player Simeone himself pushed for the club to make, and voiced his discontent during the last international break.

It’s not known if Atletico would be open to letting go of Cerci and may wait until the end of the season to decide his future, but should he leave, Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla could be targeted as a replacement.

AS note however claims Tuttosport that a Cerci departure would lead Atletico to move for Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri.
