Cerci considering Atleti future

Atletico Madrid midfielder Alessio Cerci says he is considering his future at the Vicente Calderon due to a lack of playing time.

The 27-year-old, signed from Torino for €16m at the beginning of September, has made just four La Liga appearances this term but failed to start a single game.

After playing in Italy’s 1-0 international friendly win over Albania on Tuesday he was adamant it is not a situation he is prepared to tolerate for much longer, particularly after recent speculation has seen him linked with a move to Inter.

“We’ll see in January and it all depends how much I play with Atletico. I don’t like being on the bench,” he told RAI Sport.

Inter boss Roberto Mancini is believed to be interested in the player, who made it clear he would be open to a return to Serie A.

“In Turin I featured for several years, but sat on the bench I am not able to do that. I’m losing patience,” he admitted.

However, the Italians may not have it all their own way in their attempts to secure his signature, with the Daily Express reporting that Manchester United and Arsenal would both like to bring him to the Premier League.
