Madrid to battle Chelsea for Reus

Real Madrid and Chelsea are locked in a battle to secure the signature of Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old looks certain to leave the Bundesliga outfit and, according to Marca, Los Blancos and the Londoners are set to slug it out for the Germany international, who is out of contract next June.

The report suggests Madrid have first refusal on the player, who has a release clause in his Dortmund agreement standing at €25m, although it is understood that Chelsea are ready to offer him €10m-a-season to lure him to Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish giants, however, are believed to have already sounded out the possibility of him coming to the Spanish capital, given they have an excellent relationship with his representatives, who are also Toni Kroos’ agents.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo suggests that Barcelona are also ready to join the race, with Bayern Munich also having asked to be kept informed of any developments.
