Luis Enrique believes his Barcelona team still needs to improve despite the 2-0 Champions League defeat of Ajax.
The Barca boss saw Lionel Messi’s second-half double put paid to Frank de Boer’s team, equalling Raul’s record haul of 71 goals in the competition, but Enrique did concede that he was delighted with the attitude shown by his players.
“We have to improve and for that I have a fantastic team,” he told reporters at the Amsterdam Arena.
“However, we showed a marvellous attitude against a side that gave everything.
“After two successive defeats we are not injured, we just have a few wounds, which is normal over the course of a season.
“We will have all different kinds of moments,” commented Enrique, who refused to talk about Xavi Hernandez’s fine midfield performance on the night.
“When there are negative results I don’t say anything, neither do I talk when there are positive results,” he explained.
