Jagoba Arrasate is said to be in his final hours as Real Sociedad Coach and the axe could fall after a board meeting tomorrow.
Marca reported on Sunday afternoon that the decision to dismiss Arrasate would be confirmed ‘in a matter of hours’ and that German Coach Thomas Tuchel is the most likely replacement.
Thuchel, currently without a club after leaving Mainz at the end of last season, was linked with the post in the Sunday Press.
Former Real Betis and West Bromwich Albion Coach Pepe Mel and Juande Ramos, previously of Sevilla, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Dnipro, were said to have been contacted as well.
It was reported that a defeat against Cordoba would bring an end to Arrasate’s tenure and it appears the 1-1 draw wasn’t enough to save his job.
Mundo Deportivo added that the decision to sack Arrasate was postponed on Sunday but he is ‘more outside than in’ La Real.
No board meeting has been organised, MD claim, but the atmosphere among the players and coaching staff in Cordoba was described as ‘funereal.’
The President, Joakin Aperribay, was among the officials at Arcangel to see the draw with Cordoba.
La Real are currently 17th in the League table, one place outside the relegation zone, with six points from nine games.
