Emery credits counter-attacks

Sevilla Coach Unai Emery believes his team’s speed on the break was the reason for the win over Elche.

Los Rojiblancos were victorious through a goal each from Carlos Bacca and Kevin Gameiro, with Emery saying after the match that it was actually an even affair.

“We have learned to endure bad times, because they have played well,” AS quotes Emery as saying.

“We’ve had two major counter-attacks but we didn’t dominate the opponent.

“We struggled in the first half because we weren’t together, while in the second we corrected those errors.

“The second half had more control but it doesn’t guarantee that you win. We had to work had to beat a team that caused us problems.

“If they had found a little more in the first half we would have been in a bad position.”
