Bale urges Ronaldo to stay

Gareth Bale has urged teammate Cristiano Ronaldo to ignore overtures from Manchester United and stay at Real Madrid.

The Portuguese star has been constantly linked with a move back to his former club in recent times, but Bale insists he should remain with the European Champions.

“Should Ronaldo go to Manchester United? Definitely not.

“He's shown what a world-class player he is, year after year, by scoring goals.

“Obviously as players we wouldn't want to see Ronaldo leave. Of course we want to see him stay at Real Madrid,” said Bale in comments reported by the Daily Express.

Ronaldo has made it known that he is not happy with Los Blancos’ transfer policy over the summer, one that saw both Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria depart the Santiago Bernabeu, while before that key figures such as Mesut Ozil and Arjen Robben were also sold.
