Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz admitted after the team’s defeat against Real Madrid there is a lot of soul-searching to do at San Mames.
Iraizoz conceded five goals to Los Blancos but still made a number of saves and was widely commended for his performance in keeping down the score.
But he said after the match that he takes little comfort from the praise when his side are in a run of form so poor they’ve picked up only four points from a possible 21.
“When you concede a lot of goals your pride is hurt,” he said, AS reports.
“It hurts and it stings. We have a lot to think about.
“When things are good it’s great but when they go wrong you have to keep pushing.”
