Jemez stands by Zidane complaint

Rayo Vallecano Coach Paco Jemez stands by his complaints regarding Zinidine Zidane’s position as Coach of Real Madrid Castilla.

Jemez questioned how Zidane could sit on the bench despite not having the requisite qualifications, suggesting it was an affront to Coaches who have put in the work and received their full UEFA licenses.

Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti replied that Jemez should focus on Rayo and not RM Castilla, pointing out that Zidane is working to get his badges, and it was put to Jemez at a Press conference after Rayo were beaten by Barcelona that Zidane is on a French-run course, which can take longer than a Spanish course.

“I knew this would come up,” Jemez replied, AS reports.

“Zidane holds the title of Coach? Then if he has a little bit left to do and doesn’t have a license, he can’t coach in Spain. How much clearer do you want it?

“You go and tell Ancelotti, run. Then he won’t have to wonder any more about this issue.”
