Blanc: PSG win a collective effort

Laurent Blanc believed his side’s 3-2 Champions League win over Barcelona was down to a collective effort from his players.

The Paris Saint-Germain boss revealed he had made his team aware beforehand that they must all be in it together.

“I told them that to achieve great results you need to make a big collective effort,” the Frenchman told reporters after the Ligue 1 outfit had inflicted the first defeat of the season on Luis Enrique’s men.

“Although there were players who produced extraordinary performances, which was the case, what I’ll take from this game is the collective determination we showed.

“We rediscovered certain things that perhaps we have lost lately in domestic football, but the Champions League is another competition.

“Here the players were more determined, more motivated, and without that we would have lost the game against Barcelona,” he insisted.
