Isaac Cuenca sees Deportivo La Coruna’s game against Almeria as a fixture from which his team have to take maximum points.
Almeria visit Riazor on Sunday and while Cuenca expects a difficult game, he has called on his teammates to step up and claim a victory.
“We have to get three points. Almeria are a direct rival and it will be complicated because they’re going to be eager,” he said, AS reports.
“We know who are opponent is. If we play our football we don’t have to leave any points behind.”
Cuenca was on the score sheet as Depor were beaten in the Galician derby by Celta Vigo in midweek and revealed the goal had boosted his confidence.
“It helps and I feel more confident and optimistic,” he continued.
“I’ve gone two years without really playing and little by little I feel better.
“The good thing is we were fighting to the end and we could have equalised or even won.”
