Diego Simeone felt Atletico Madrid were comfortable from the off against Almeria, the champions recording a 1-0 win away from home.
Miranda scored the only goal of the game and Simeone, still banned from the touchline, was pleased with the performance when speaking to reporters.
“We controlled the game from the kick off. In the first half we had a chance the goalkeeper dealt with well,” the Coach said, according to AS.
“After we scored we managed the spaces better. It’s a 1-0 win against a team that works hard and we had to defend the crosses from [Fernando] Soriano.”
It was put to Simeone that it’s a problem Atletico’s goals are mostly coming from corners, but Cholo countered that it’s not a concern of his.
“To have a corner you have to attack. The team creates this possibility,” he argued.
“We value this win as it’s at a ground that has always been complicated for us.”
