Unai Emery has welcomed Sevilla’s consistent start to the season after a 3-1 win over Cordoba sent his side into second place in the League.
Los Rojiblancos were briefly top of the table before Barcelona beat Levante and Emery compared the early going of this campaign to previous, less fruitful years.
“The team has done very consistent work. Last season started badly but ended well but here there is consistency.
“Hopefully we go from good to good or very good.”
Emery reserved specific praise for Stephane Mbia, who he believes is finding his best form.
“He’s better than ever. [The Europa League game against Feyenoord on Thursday] was his best game in 12 months,” Emery added.
“It’s been very hard for him.”
Emery also insisted that the team’s mind is only on the next game, on Wednesday, when Real Sociedad visit Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
“There is a home game on Wednesday and we can’t think beyond it,” the Coach stressed.
“Looking at the table now is a pleasure but nothing more. There’s a lot to come.”
