LFP & RFEF at odds over Leon

The RFEF has issued Pedro Leon with a licence to play for Getafe but the LFP insist it is invalid.

AS reports the federation on Tuesday gave the player, the club and the League two days to settle the row that has seen Leon not registered by Getafe over fears doing so would breach their salary cap.

When no agreement was reached the RFEF stepped in and announced they were registering Leon under regulations they feel gives them the right to do so.

The LFP countered – two minutes later – by claiming they have to endorse the licence beforehand and have not done so.

Getafe were warned by the LFP that if they were to field Leon, they would face the legal consequences.

Leon meanwhile took to Twitter to thank the federation and the players’ union, the AFE, who have been fighting his case.
