Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has warned of the difficulties posed by Olympiacos in Tuesday’s Champions League fixture.
Los Rojiblancos travel to Athens buoyed by the 2-1 weekend victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, but the Argentine says it has already been forgotten.
“This is going to be one of the most difficult games in the group because of who the opponents are and the atmosphere the fans generate there.”
“But there is no euphoria [after the weekend]. We are continuing to build with the arrival of new players and trying to unite the group without changing the style,” Simeone told reporters, before praising former Real Madrid player Michel, his opposite number at the Greek club.
“He is a champion with Olympiacos and has managed to make them grow as a Champions League side.
“Above all he has imposed his own style and that is very important,” he added.
