Casemiro believes Real Madrid are this year as strong as they were last year despite a controversial summer of transfers.
Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso left Santiago Bernabeu before the close of the transfer window with James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos coming in.
Casemiro, who also departed, signing on loan for Porto, said from afar the squad doesn’t look weaker, but doesn’t feel its stronger either.
“The level remains the same because last year Madrid had great players. The level remains high,” he told Marca.
“I don’t think they’ve changed much despite the signings.
“Madrid always has a winning mentality. But I’m thinking of Porto.
“It wasn’t easy to leave Madrid. We’re talking about the biggest team in the world. But I’m happy at Porto because the level of players is very high.”
