Barcelona tried and failed to take midfielder Mateo Kovavic from Inter, reports in Spain and Italy claim.
Mundo Deportivo cites a story from Sky Italia that says Inter turned down Barca’s approach for the 20-year-old.
The bid came on Monday, the final day of the summer transfer window, and the last time Barca were allowed to sign players as they face a transfer ban, subject to appeal.
No fee is mentioned but it’s believed Kovacic has a contract until 2017 and is valued at around €17m by his club.
