Deulofeu out to prove Enrique wrong

Gerard Deulofeu admits one of his key aims during his loan spell at Sevilla this season will be to prove Luis Enrique wrong.

The new Barcelona Coach opted to allow the young midfielder to move temporarily to Andalusia, due to the fact he could not guarantee him enough playing time.

“I am very happy to be here,” former Everton man Deulofeu said at a Press conference today.

“Luis Enrique told me that I would not get enough minutes, so since the first moment I had the intention of coming to Sevilla.

“I have many expectations of this year. It’s a key year in my career but I’m not thinking about anything other than this year. I have come to benefit from it and learn from this club.

“My departure surprised me a bit, they made me come back from Everton and then later they told me I wouldn’t get minutes.

“But I don’t want to talk much about Barca, I want to talk about the year I am going to have here.

“I know that I am lacking some things from a defensive aspect and I will work to improve that.

“One of my aims is to show Luis Enrique he was wrong and above all show it to myself.”
