Ter Stegen to miss Liga opener

Barcelona have confirmed that goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will be out for up to three weeks with a back injury.

The youngster arrived alongside Claudio Bravo at Camp Nou this summer, with both new boys vying for the No.1 spot left by Victor Valdes.

But it now seems that the former Real Sociedad man will be between the posts against Elche next weekend as the German has contracted a lumbar contortion in training.

Barca revealed via their official website that they expect Ter Stegen to be out until the end of the month.

Bravo meanwhile, has insisted that he always thought he’d be the one to play.

“I'm relaxed because the manager asked for my transfer,” he told RAC1.

“Who will start? I always think I'll play. It's true Ter Stegen arrived first, but you can also see who brought me here.”
