Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone believes the club are well-stocked in attack but is still in the market for a midfielder.
Marca report Simeone as speaking to La Sexta and the subject of Raul Jimenez, who is to join the champions from Mexican side America, was raised.
“Jimenez is a young player, a player with speed, which we needed,” Cholo said.
“I think that having Antoine Griezmann, Raul Garcia, Mario Mandzukic and Jimenez means we have significant offensive power.
“I am convinced the club is working to give me the best chance and I hope [a midfielder is signed].”
Simeone was asked about the chances of signing Fernando Torres from Chelsea but replied that Jimenez effectively completes the club’s attack.
“I think as a Coach when you’re not normally super powerful economically you have to adapt to situations,” he considered.
“And in building a team the Coach gives ideas of what he would like.
“I as a Coach like characters of his type and the club looks for economic opportunities closer to the needs of the Coach. I’m happy.
“There is no point imagining situations and I think with the signing of Jimenez we have completed the characters we need in the team.”
