Roberto Carlos believes Real Madrid are European Super Cup favourites but warns Sevilla will be no pushover.
The sides meet tomorrow in Cardiff and Carlos told Marca that Madrid are used to playing at the highest level and that will go in their favour.
“Real Madrid are favourites because the difficulty you face in the Champions League is different than the Europa League,” Carlos said.
“They have experienced players to make a great game. These clashes are fun to play. It’s a different game, with different motivation, with goals and people enjoy going.
“Two teams with Spain’s great players are playing.”
Madrid are competing for six trophies this year, of which the European Super Cup is the first, and Carlos predicted a hard game against Los Rojiblancos.
“They have good players and although they lost a reference point in the captain, Ivan Rakitic, it’s still a very strong team,” he added.
“They have always played with great gusto and so have been champions of the Europa League last year.
“I wish Madrid and Sevilla a great final and an optimum season for both.”
