Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to be in Real Madrid’s starting XI for the European Super Cup tie against Sevilla on Tuesday.
AS claim Ronaldo has successfully shaken off the injuries that dogged him towards the end of the season and into the World Cup, although some doctors’ advice warned the forward not to push himself too hard.
But Ronaldo has spoken with Coach Carlo Ancelotti and the feeling is he is ready to play, and wants to be involved in the Super Cup as it is one of the trophies which he has never won.
AS add that Ronaldo has been doing extra training since joining up with Los Blancos and even on his post-World Cup, pre-training holiday, was working with fitness coach Antonio Gaspar.
Also expected to line up against Los Rojiblancos are Iker Casillas and new signings Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez.
Madrid’s third summer signing, Levante goalkeeper Keylor Navas, will start on the bench, Ancelotti has confirmed.
