Arda Turan has revealed his joy at playing for Atletico Madrid in Turkey after the goalless draw with Galatasaray.
The friendly, played in memory of those who died in May’s mining accident, ended in a 0-0 draw and AS reports Turan as saying after the final whistle that it was a privilege to be involved in the game.
“It was a very special day for me. Galatasaray is my home and I was very touched by the atmosphere in the stadium,” the Turkey captain said.
“When the game started I focused on that. I’m very focused on the beginning of the season.”
