Madrid waiting on Di Maria for Falcao

Real Madrid need to sell Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain before they can sign Radamel Falcao from Monaco, reports claim.

AS say that as it stands, Madrid’s three non-EU places are taken – by new signings Keylor Navas and James Rodriguez, and Di Maria.

Falcao would be a fourth non-EU player and so there is no space for the Colombia striker in the squad – but should Di Maria complete his move to PSG, there would be.

But PSG’s bid for Di Maria has been held up by their need to conform to Financial Fair Play regulations, which limits the amount the French club can pay for the Argentina international.

Madrid and PSG have agreed a €75m fee but as it is more than PSG are currently permitted to spend, the transfer can’t be completed.

That is welcome news to some figures at Madrid, AS add, as Coach Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t want Di Maria to leave, while Cristiano Ronaldo was seen speaking with Di Maria in training yesterday and it’s thought he tried to encourage his teammate.

AS note that a year ago, when Madrid were last trying to sell Di Maria, Ronaldo publically called for Di Maria to stay at Santiago Bernabeu.
