Napoli Coach Rafael Benitez is looking forward to tonight’s friendly game against Barcelona.
The sides meet in Geneva and Benitez has said La Blaugrana will pose a challenge to his side as they continue their pre-season preparations.
“We face a challenge against a great team,” AS reports Benitez as saying at a Press conference.
“It’s a team with a lot of quality and, particularly, I think it will be very interesting for us, although we are still in full pre-season with what that means, and there is still a lot of work to do and many things to adjust.
“It will be another step in our philosophy of seeking continued growth.”
Benitez paid further tribute to Barca but stressed the difference in budget between the sides, describing it as ‘remarkable.’
“Barca are a top level club that has managed to impose its winning character for many years primarily based on ball possession and the ability to manage the game,” the former Valencia Coach continued.
“In my opinion, there is a difference of principle as regards the expenditure side, I think about €500m.
“Napoli has a strong balance sheet and you can certainly improve with time, but today the economic potential is far from that of Barcelona.
“Mainly for this reason, perhaps the gap between the two teams is still quite remarkable.”
