Jose Mourinho has revealed that Luka Modric has rejected the chance to sign for Chelsea.
The Croatia international was one of Real Madrid’s star performers last season as Los Blancos claimed the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
And after impressing at Santiago Bernabeu, the Premier League side’s Coach has admitted that he has tried to persuade Modric to come back to England.
“I called Modric only privately but he doesn't want [to join] Chelsea,” he told Sportske Novosti.
“You know I really appreciate Luka Modric and his qualities. But he stays in Real Madrid.”
