Navas: Future decided soon

Keylor Navas has confirmed he expects to leave Levante, saying he hopes to be able to reveal his transfer soon.

Real Madrid are widely thought to be Navas’ suitors and in a video chat with supporters, the Costa Rica international gave away as much as he could regarding his next step.

“I wish I could tell you my next team,” AS reports Navas as saying.

“It’s very close. Hopefully next week it’s all finished. I’m calm and then I can say where my new home is.

“My goal is to be the best goalkeeper in the world someday. That’s my dream. I also want to play for a bigger team.”

Navas added that the season he spent out of favour at Levante was the hardest of his career, but that he is indebted to Les Granotes and considers himself a supporter.

“The year I wasn’t playing for Levante hurt me. I had it hard but thanks to God and my family I kept going,” he said.

“In Costa Rica I support Saprissa, where I came from and where I developed. I support Albacete [his former team] in Europe and now Levante because I have done very well there and must be grateful.”
