Real Madrid are putting the details in place for James Rodriguez’s arrival from Monaco including allocating the Colombia international a squad number.
AS reports James will wear the No. 10 shirt, left vacant since Mesut Ozil moved to Arsenal last summer. That would mean the forward would sit between Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale in the Madrid locker room.
He has also been given a room at the Madrid training ground – No. 110, to correspond with his shirt number.
It has widely been reported that James is bound for Santiago Bernabeu and AS confirm the only detail outstanding is an agreement between the clubs.
Madrid and James have reached terms but Los Blancos want to add players to the offer to Monaco. Casemiro was on the agenda but he now appears bound for Porto.
Diego Lopez and Sami Khedira are also under discussion as Madrid attempt to lower the agreed €80m fee.
James is understood to be ready to say goodbye to his Monaco teammates on Monday as he prepares to move to Spain, a year after he joined the Ligue 1 club from Monaco for €45m.
The transfer will be confirmed when Angel Di Maria completes his move from Madrid to Paris Saint-Germain.
Monaco were hoping to replace James with Rodrigo, but the Benfica forward is expected to join Valencia as Los Che’s new owner, Peter Lim, is also the owner of Rodrigo’s registration.
