Atletico Madrid have announced the signing of goalkeeper Jan Oblak from Benfica on a six-year contract.
The 21-year-old joins the Rojiblancos for a fee reported to be in the region of €16m and will replace previous shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois, who has returned to parent club Chelsea.
"Atletico Madrid and Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jan Oblak to our club,” the Vicente Calderon side said in a statement via their website.
“Pending medical examination and the physical signing of the contract by the player."
The Slovenian will battle it out with fellow new goalkeeping arrival, Miguel Angel Moya, for the number one jersey this season.
