Khedira to Arsenal to be confirmed?

Reports in Spain claim Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira will be confirmed as an Arsenal player in the very near future.

Sport say Khedira will sign a four-year deal with the Gunners and move for €29m, going so far as to state there is ‘no going back’ on the transfer, even though it is not yet official.

Khedira is alleged to feel undervalued by Madrid as the club has thus far declined to offer a new contract, with his current deal to expire next summer.

It’s further claimed that Khedira has never been fully settled in the capital and felt restricted by being asked to play a mostly defensive role, whereas he feels capable of being a more attack-minded presence.

Carlo Ancelotti is thought to have wanted to explore Khedira’s effectiveness further forward but the World Cup winner missed a large part of last season, leaving the Coach unable to do so.

Sport say Khedira will be paid €10m a year by Arsenal and will join four compatriots – fellow World Cup winners Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski, and youngster Serge Gnabry.
