Barcelona have made a €50m offer for Brazil captain Thiago Silva, reports in Italy and Spain have said.
AS cites claims from Mediaset that say La Blaugrana have made the Paris Saint-Germain centre-back their primary target to bolster their defence.
Silva’s PSG teammate Marquinhos was thought to be high on Barca’s list for a new centre-back – along with Valencia’s Jeremy Mathieu – but attention has instead turned to the former Milan player.
Barca have been linked with Silva before, most notably two seasons ago when it appeared he was bound for Camp Nou, only for then-Coach Tito Vilanova to decline to complete the signing.
It’s thought that Silva’s close friendship with Brazil teammate Neymar could be a factor in getting the 29-year-old to agree to the move.
