Neymar: All I want is the World Cup

Neymar has reiterated his desire to win the World Cup with Brazil and says beating Colombia is more important than individual glory.

Mundo Deportivo reports Neymar’s Press conference, held to preview Friday’s quarter-final against Los Cafeteros, at which the Barcelona forward reflected on the win over Chile and offered his thoughts on James Rodriguez.

“I’m recovered [from the Chile game] and no one is emotionally troubled,” he said after reports a psychologist had been drafted in to the Brazil set-up.

“Against Chile there was a lot of excitement and everyone has a different way of expressing it.

“We’re all ready to approach Colombia and hopefully move on to the semi-finals.

“All I want is to win the World Cup so we are champions. That Brazil are champions, that’s all I want.

“[Felipe] Scolari has passed us the report on Colombia and we are ready.”

On James, Neymar praised the Monaco forward’s tournament so far and insisted the match isn’t about the top scorer competition between the pair.

“He is very talented, a star, and I congratulate him on what he has done but I hope James’ cycle ends and we go through, with all due respect,” Neymar said.

“Football has no age, although experience helps. I have 22 years of experience and that helps. You just have to get on the pitch and play football, nothing more.

“Colombia is a great team and have done tremendous things. I hope that the Brazil team shines against Colombia.

“I don’t want to be the top scorer. I just want Brazil to win 1-0. For me that would be wonderful.”
