Monaco ‘preparing for Falcao exit’

Monaco and Real Madrid are close to concluding talks for Radamel Falcao with the Ligue 1 club preparing for the striker’s departure.

AS cite reports from L’Equipe which state Monaco are ready to say goodbye to the former Atletico Madrid forward, who they signed a year ago from Los Colchoneros.

Falcao is said to have a pact with Monaco’s owner that would allow him to leave the club if Madrid made an approach, which is the situation now.

He is also said to be keen to return to a bigger club, as he hasn’t enjoyed playing in the more tranquil Stade Louis II, having previously appeared in front of boisterous crowds at River Plate, Porto and Atletico.

It’s not thought that Madrid will pay the €45m Monaco did to Atletico and it’s suggested that Madrid could delay the transfer until the winter in an effort to gauge Falcao’s fitness after his serious knee injury.

Falcao was forced out of the World Cup due to the problem and Madrid have sent their medical team to judge his recovery, while Falcao is also in pre-season training with his club and says he is fully fit.
