Line-ups: Germany-Algeria

Lukas Podolski is missing for Germany in their World Cup Round of 16 game against Algeria.

The Arsenal forward suffered a thigh injury against the United States and is replaced by Mario Gotze.

Shkrodan Mustafi also comes into the XI in place of Mats Hummels, who has the flu. Jerome Boateng should continue at right-back with Mustafi partnering Per Mertesacker in the centre of defence.

Philipp Lahm is partnered in midfield by Bastian Schweinsteiger, who sat out the first two Group G games after Sami Khedira was favoured by Joachim Low, while Thomas Muller continues in attack with Miroslav Klose waiting for the chance to become the all-time leading World Cup scorer. He is currently level with Ronaldo.

Algeria include Valencia midfielder Sofiane Feghouli and Getafe’s Medhi Lacen, but there is no place for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Nabil Bentaleb.

The Fennec Foxes are now the only African side left in the competition after Nigeria were beaten by France, with Les Bleus to play the winners of this tie.
