Arsenal are said to have met with the agent of Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez over a proposed move for the Chile international.
Mundo Deportivo report the meeting was held shortly after Chile beat Spain last week, but the Gunners still face competition from Juventus and Liverpool.
Juventus’ offer is thought to be set at €18m, substantially below the fee Barca are looking for, while Liverpool’s interest could be tied up in Barca’s interest in Luis Suarez. Atletico Madrid are also in the running.
Barca expect to get in the region of €38m for the former Udinese man despite the stance of President Josep Maria Bartomeu that Alexis isn’t for sale.
