Barcelona’s Cameroon international midfielder Alex Song has been banned for three games following his sending off against Croatia.
Song was dismissed for elbowing Mario Mandzukic in an off-the-ball incident and his side eventually went down to a 4-0 defeat, eliminating the Indomitable Lions from the World Cup.
The match also saw Cameroon teammates Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Benjamin Moukandjo almost come to blows, with the former headbutting the latter in the final minutes of the match.
Song has asked for the Cameroon supporters to forgive him and offered his apologies for the incident.
