Ivan Rakitic has spoken of his excitement at moving to Barcelona, and thanked his former club Sevilla for giving him three enjoyable years.
Sport reports Rakitic as briefly touching on club matters during a Press conference to preview Croatia’s World Cup game against Mexico.
Croatia can still progress out of Group A but need to beat Mexico to do so, and while Rakitic said he was focused on international duty, he did say a little about his move to Camp Nou.
“Moving to Barcelona is a big step in my career,” he admitted.
“I want to thank Barca for being fair in the negotiations and satisfying Sevilla.
“Sevilla is my club and I am very sad to leave.
“I had three wonderful years there in which I got married, had a daughter and lived a great time personally.”
