Dani Alves has revealed his shock at the news that Xavi is likely to leave Barcelona for Qatar.
Al-Arabi boss Dan Petrescu claimed on Tuesday that the legendary Blaugrana midfielder had signed a pre-contract agreement with the Doha-based side.
And the Brazilian full-back has admitted that if Xavi leaves, anyone could be off in the summer.
“I don't believe it – you're pulling my leg,” he is reported as saying by AS.
“It can't be. Xavi? If Xavi leaves, who is the symbol? If he leaves, then anyone can leave.
“I do not understand it. You have left me in a state of shock. That is for sure? It can't be. Xavi cannot leave Barca.”
Alves was then asked about his own future, with heavy rumours that Paris Saint-Germain have tabled an offer.
"I hope I am [staying], I believe so – but now you have left me shocked. You are pulling my leg with that about Xavi, no?”
