Gonzalo Higuain has said he would welcome the chance to play with Lionel Messi at Barcelona as he enjoys doing so with Argentina.
Higuain has been linked with a move from Napoli to Barcelona and has said he is focused on competing at the World Cup with his country.
Marca reports that while Higuain stressed his focus on the international scene, he also told news agency EFE that the chance to link-up with Messi at club level may be a welcome one.
“Of course [I’d be interested]. I enjoy playing with him for the national team,” the former Real Madrid striker said.
“Obviously it would be a great pleasure, but my mind is on the World Cup.
“I’m flattered by Barca’s interest as any player would be.”
