Gerard Pique was overheard telling Vicente Del Bosque that Cesc Fabregas will leave Barcelona for €33m, AS has reported.
Pique and Del Bosque were preparing for a Press conference and their conversation was picked up by the microphones, despite the pair covering their mouths as they spoke.
The Barca centre-back claimed Fabregas had clued him in to his next step, although didn’t mention which club the midfielder was joining.
“[Cesc] has said it’s done,” Pique told the Coach.
“He’s going, for €33m, he told me.”
Pique went on to defend Cesc, claiming that Barca don’t value the midfielder as much as they should.
Fabregas has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League. Chelsea are said to be his most likely destination.
