Ronaldo undergoing injury treatment

Cristiano Ronaldo is having treatment on a thigh problem with little more than two weeks to go before Portugal’s first World Cup fixture.

Paulo Bento’s side start their tournament on June 16 against Germany in Group G but Mundo Deportivo reports Ronaldo is not yet at full fitness.

He has had treatment for the past four days and missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Greece in a pre-World Cup friendly.

Ronaldo’s injury is said to be a legacy of his efforts in the Champions League final where, despite already suffering, he played 120 minutes as Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid 4-1. Ronaldo netted a last-minute penalty.

It’s thought that Ronaldo will also sit out forthcoming friendlies against Mexico and the Republic of Ireland, although his recovery from the injury is said to be progressing well.
