Chile name WC squad

Artuo Vidal is among the 23-man squad selected by Chile for the World Cup, with the roster having a strong La Liga representation.

Including Eduardo Vargas, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Valencia from Napoli, there are five players plying their trade in Spain among Jorge Sampaoli’s squad.

Joining Vargas are Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez, Celta Vigo’s Fabian Orellana, Francisco Silva of Osasuna and Claudio Bravo, the Real Sociedad goalkeeper who also captains his country.

Vidal has been named after the Juventus midfielder recovered from knee surgery.

Chile are in the same group as Spain, Group B, with the Netherlands and Australia.
