Barcelona and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas has again been linked with a return to the Premier League.
Mundo Deportivo cite a report from Sky Sports that claims the former Arsenal midfielder will be back in English football for next season.
But Fabregas won’t be at his old club, it’s alleged, as the Gunners have lost interest in re-signing their former captain.
Manchester United’s interest has waned with the appointment of Louis van Gaal, who has different priorities to David Moyes.
Moyes, sacked in April, made Fabregas a priority signing but the former Barca Coach is looking elsewhere.
Manchester City have become possible candidates for Fabregas’ signature and have a couple of former Barca executives in their high command.
The Premier League champions are also one of the few teams who could afford to sign Fabregas, who would cost in the region of €35m.
Should Fabregas leave Camp Nou then Barca could step up their interest in Atletico Madrid’s Koke, Mundo Deportivo add.
