Barcelona have turned down offers from Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, a report in Spain has claimed.
Sport say that the bids from the trio were rejected by La Blaugrana and while no proposed fees are mentioned, the report suggests that the money on the table was substantial.
Barca President Josep Maria Bartomeu told a Chilean newspaper this week that Alexis was not for sale and Sport suggest that while it’s easy to assume Bartomeu was telling Alexis’ homeland what they wanted to hear, there actually some truth in the statement.
Coach Luis Enrique is said to want to keep Alexis and the feeling at Camp Nou is that at 25, Alexis has a lot more to offer in coming years.
The forward scored 20 goals this season, including netting against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, and Barca have become reluctant to let him leave.
Barca expect more offers for the former Udinese man but there is now no guarantee the club will allow Alexis to leave.
