Jesus Navas has revealed that he had recovered from injury in time to be part of Spain’s World Cup squad.
The Manchester City winger was left out of Vicente Del Bosque’s 23 for Brazil, revealed earlier on Saturday.
Navas had been recuperating from an injury suffered in April and speaking after Spain’s win over Bolivia on Friday, Del Bosque said he was concerned about Navas’ fitness and lack of game time.
The former Sevilla player has however taken to Twitter to offer his reaction to being dropped, AS reports.
“I am very proud to recover in time and to have fought to get to Brazil,” Navas wrote.
“I wish my colleagues and the Coach good luck to retain the trophy.”
