Barcelona’s Brazil forward Neymar has vowed to enjoy the World Cup, telling Brazilian television he plays football for that reason.
Neymar was speaking on Globo and, as well as defending Lionel Messi from criticism, said he wishes the Argentine well for the summer tournament.
“I hope [Argentina] have all the luck in the world and get to the final. And then lose to Brazil,” Neymar joked.
“It’s a dream to be in the World Cup and the pressure is something natural,” he added as the conversation turned serious.
“When I chose to play football, I chose to enjoy it. And that’s what I’ll do, kick it up at the World Cup.
“When I was three-years-old I wanted to play at a World Cup. I’ve grown up watching Romario and Ronaldo.
“It’s something I want for myself.”
