Former Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid midfielder Bernd Schuster has backed Los Blancos to win the Champions League final.
AS reports that Schuster told German publication Bild that Carlo Ancelotti’s team would come away from Lisbon with a 1-0 win.
The former Malaga Coach added however that the pressure of getting La Decima was intense.
“Since 2002, Real Madrid has hoped to claim their 10th title. This has caused incredible pressure,” Schuster said.
“A win would be a real liberation for the club.”
Schuster also predicted that a victory for the Santiago Bernabeu side could precipitate a renewed period of continental success for.
The ex-Germany international spend two years at the Bernabeu before spending three at Vicente Calderon. Schuster also had eight years at Barcelona and Coached Madrid in 2007-08.
