Alves: Enrique good appointment

Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has wished incoming Blaugrana Coach Luis Enrique all the luck in the world in his new role.

The 44-year-old tactician is due to speak to the media today for the first time since he replaced Tata Martino as Camp Nou boss.

At a promotional event in Brazilian city Sao Paulo, the 31-year-old defender said he believes Enrique to be a good fit for the Catalan giants due to his familiarity with the club.

“I think he is a good appointment,” Alves told reporters. “I think he knows the club well, as well as the players, the team and the methods in place.

“I wish him all the success in the world because he is coming to work at one of the best clubs in the world.”

The Brazilian was then questioned about his own long term future at Barca amid speculation that French club Paris Saint Germain are interested in securing his services.

“I’m not talking about my future, my mind is on the World Cup. I live in the moment. The moment right now is to think about the World Cup, then we will talk about the future later.”
