Celta Vigo’s Vice-president has said that Luis Enrique remains the club’s plan A as Coach despite continued speculation over a switch to Barcelona.
Marca reports that Ricardo Barrios has said that Enrique remains the Celta Coach and there has been no contact from Barca.
But Enrique was pictured meeting with Barca sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta, an incident about which Barrios offered no comment.
“There’s no unrest here. Luis Enrique is the Coach of Celta,” Barrios said.
“I can’t comment on that meeting in Barcelona. For us he is still the Coach of our team and there’s nothing else.
“The meeting wasn’t good or bad. There is absolutely nothing to say because Luis Enrique is the Coach of Celta Vigo.
“We don’t plan to meet with him until the League is over because there’s nothing.
“Barcelona haven’t spoken to us. The President is away and we are all very happy with the team’s season.
“There is no plan B. Luis Enrique is our plan A because he has one more year on his contract.”
Barrios added that he didn’t know if Enrique’s contract allowed for a break this summer.
