Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti says his side’s quest to win La Liga will be over if they fail to beat Valladolid tomorrow.

Victory for Los Blancos would take them to within two points of League leader Atletico Madrid with two matches remaining in the season.

Ahead of the visit to the relegation strugglers, the Italian tactician dismissed the notion that Barcelona, who play Atletico on the last day of the season, would want to lose to the Rojiblancos if it meant denying Madrid the title.

“I am sure that Barcelona will want to win that match,” Ancelotti said at a Press conference. “It has been a surprising finish to the League.

“Levante played very well against Atletico even though they had nothing to play for, just as Valencia did against us in similar circumstances.

“That is good for the League. Everyone is fighting until the end, and so are we.

“Barca will play to their best against Atletico. They have always played like that and it will be the same again.

“Tomorrow’s match is a final and is decisive for both teams. It won’t be easy playing against a team fighting to stay up.

“These three matches are in our hands and we have to win them all. Tomorrow’s is crucial, because if we don’t win the League would be over for us.

“We are focused on that. It will be different to the match against Valencia, because we have more energy now.

“The team are in good shape because we have players with great experience of fighting for titles. They have great personality.

“Our problem against Valencia was our mentality. The only option now is to get nine points. Atletico have the advantage, they will be champions if they get four points.

“We need to wait and see what happens.”

Ancelotti then commented on Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

“Cristiano is fine, though he is a little tired. He has only played in one training match. He is available for Valladolid.

“Benzema’s form doesn’t worry me. He scored a very important goal against Bayern at home. His work was fantastic and I can’t say anything bad about the forwards.

“We have scored 150 goals this season. Cristiano scores so much because the work of the others is so good.”
